TUM School of Management

TUM School of  Management is one of the leading management schools in Germany. The approach of the TUM School of Management is unique in Germany. The faculty researches and teaches at the highest possible level of quality and directly at the interface of business administration with engineering and natural sciences. The university's interdisciplinary research platform plays a substantial role in developing new technologies, designing new products and creating new business models.

Startups at TUM

Since 1990, TUM has been the launch pad for around 380 companies, which now employ around 11,000 employees. TUM is one of the most active  universities in Germany in terms of patent applications. The culture of entrepreneurship has a long and successful tradition at Technische Universität München, a tradition that UnternehmerTUM Projekt GmbH takes up and promotes to an ever-increasing standard. Entrepreneurs looking far into the future and successful innovators included outstanding individuals such as Carl von Linde, Rudolf Diesel, Claude Dornier, and Oskar von Miller. Today, just to mention two examples, Stefan Vilsmeier (BrainLAB) and Peter Kowalsky (Bionade) are outstanding entrepreneurs coming from TUM.
