The Executive MBA in Innovation & Business Creation is a program of the Technische Universität München (TUM), in cooperation with UnternehmerTUM, the Center for Innovation and Business Creation at TUM. The academic degree is awarded by the TUM.

TUM - The entrepreneurial university

TUM is an entrepreneurial university, inspiring and empowering its students, scientists, researchers and alumni to think and act like entrepreneurs. TUM systematically develops and supports start-ups and fosters an "entrepreneurial spirit" in all areas of university life.

Chosen as one of the country's universities of excellence by the German government in 2006, it conducts high-calibre research on an international level in thirteen different faculties. The spectrum of subjects is unique throughout Europe, ranging from natural sciences and engineering to medical, life and business sciences.

TUM School of Management

TUM School of  Management is one of the leading management schools in Germany. The approach of the TUM School of Management is unique in Germany. The faculty researches and teaches at the highest possible level of quality and directly at the interface of business administration with engineering and natural sciences. The university's interdisciplinary research platform plays a substantial role in developing new technologies, designing new products and creating new business models.

Startups at TUM

Since 1990, TUM has been the launch pad for around 380 companies, which now employ around 11,000 employees. TUM is one of the most active  universities in Germany in terms of patent applications. The culture of entrepreneurship has a long and successful tradition at Technische Universität München. Entrepreneurs looking far into the future and successful innovators included outstanding individuals such as Carl von Linde, Rudolf Diesel, Claude Dornier, and Oskar von Miller. Today, just to mention two examples, Stefan Vilsmeier (BrainLAB) and Peter Kowalsky (Bionade) are outstanding entrepreneurs coming from TUM.

Universität München. With more than 40 employees, over 1,000 participants attending lectures, seminars and programs each year, as well as 50 innovation and start-up projects per year, UnternehmerTUM is one of the leading university based innovation and business creation centers in Europe.

UnternehmerTUM GmbH focuses on the entrepreneurial qualification of students, researchers and professionals. In particular, UnternehmerTUM GmbH seeks to develop and foster entrepreneurial potentials and creates the ability to develop business concepts. UnternehmerTUM Projekt GmbH giving Momentum to Innovations and New Companies

The foundation of new companies is a driving force for innovation and growth. Such new companies open up new markets, create new jobs and offer solutions to social challenges of the future. The initiation and support of growth-oriented new companies is therefore another highlight and key activity of UnternehmerTUM Projekt GmbH. UnternehmerTUM-Fonds Management GmbH: Venture Capital for Startups

The UnternehmerTUM Fund provides early-stage venture capital for high-technology startups and supports them with market expertise, startup experience and an active network of business partners that encompasses industry experts and other venture capital investors.
