Fashioned from milk: The winners of enable2start 2012
Miniature cakes, school rucksacks, beer by smart phone, carbon components, and fashions made from milk. These were the concepts that recently won the votes of the enable2start 2012 jury. UnternehmerTUM is a co-founder and partner of enable2start and program partner of the Executive MBA in Innovation and Business Creation.
The high-calibre panel of jurors, including UnternehmerTUM owner Susanne Klatten and DM drugstore founder Götz Werner, have choosen the five winner teams. For the winning startups, business is about to get moving. As well as receiving €50,000 in capital to help them launch their startups, regular reports on their progress will be published in the Financial Times Deutschland.
The winner teams 2012
The QMilch start-up develops chemical-free natural fibres from milk to make allergy-friendly fabrics. Gugl founder Chalwa Heigl won with her praline chocolates based on the famous German Guglhupf cake. The Ergobag founders design up-to-date, ergonomic school rucksacks, and the Orderbird team has designed a ordering system, which will allow customers to order drinks by smart phone. Finally, the Munich Composites team has designed an automated carbon component production process.
enable2start plus Executive MBA
Two winners of the last years competitions decided to attend the
Executive MBA afterwards:
Jan Philipp Hinrichs, founder of CaptchaAd and
winner of the round 2010, said about his MBA year: "I got an
excellent, academic management education with an MBA degree at the
end of it. Additionally, the program provided a great platform to
bring forward my start-up. The program team has greatly helped us
to develop our young company."
Robin Harries, founder of Teamsunited and winner
of the enable2start contest 2011, is participant of the current
Executive MBA class. The network of the program was one of biggest
benefit for him: he found an investor for Teamsunited.
